Be Involved in the creative process

In 2007, Winthrop University's College of Visual and Performing Arts produced the first Create Carolina, an arts festival collaboration between the university and Charles Randolph Wright, acclaimed writer, director and producer of theatre, film and television and past recipient of the Winthrop University Medal of Honor in the Arts.

The Create Carolina Festival is a three-week multi-disciplinary intensive arts experience bringing together artists from around the country and offering the community an array of performance experiences and training opportunities. The festival will present main stage productions from both established and emerging artists. In addition there will be a university three credit hour course, performance opportunities, lectures, and master classes. Also, Create Carolina 2008 is pleased to offer a new dance component of the arts festival. This creative catalog of activities will provide Winthrop students and the community a variety of hands-on cultural events for their participation.
